Some Analogues of Glauberman's Z*-theorem

چکیده
Let x be an element of prime order, p, in a finite group, G, and let P be a p-Sylow subgroup of G containing x. Say that x satisfies the unique conjugacy condition (u.c.c.) relative to G and the p-Sylow subgroup P if x is not conjugate in G to any other element of P. Let 02'(G) denote the largest normal subgroup of G oi odd order. Define the subgroup Z*(G) by the equation Z*(G)/0v(G)=Z(G/0v(G)), the center of G/02-(G). In the case that x is an involution satisfying the u.c.c, Glauberman [l] has shown that x lies in Z*(G). In particular, G is not nonabelian simple. Let 0V>(G) denote the largest normal p'-subgroup of G. With an appropriate redefinition of Z*(G) by Z*(G)/0P'(G)=Z(G/Op>(G)), Glauberman [l] has asked whether an element x of odd prime order satisfying the u.c.c. lies in Z*(G). However, a resolution of this question (if one exists) appears to be difficult. Nonetheless, it is possible to make a compromise. If we strengthen the hypothesis of the proposition we can obtain analogues of Glauberman's Z*-theorem in which the conclusions are correspondingly stronger than xEZ*(G). (These appear as Corollary 2 and Theorem 2 below.) The theorems may be of interest in that they represent nonsimplicity criteria involving only local hypotheses and have relatively elementary proofs. The author wishes to thank Professor Glauberman for his suggestion to modify Corollary 2 to the version appearing as Theorem 1.

On dimensions of derived algebra and central factor of a Lie algebra
Some Lie algebra analogues of Schur's theorem and its converses are presented. As a result, it is shown that for a capable Lie algebra L we always have dim L=Z(L) 2(dim(L2))2. We also give give some examples sup- porting our results.
متن کامل$S$-metric and fixed point theorem
In this paper, we prove a general fixed point theorem in $textrm{S}$-metric spaces for maps satisfying an implicit relation on complete metric spaces. As applications, we get many analogues of fixed point theorems in metric spaces for $textrm{S}$-metric spaces.

We discuss central automorphisms of partial linear spaces, particularly those with three points per line. When these automorphisms have order two and their products are restricted to have odd order, we are in the situation of Glauberman's Z∗-theorem. This sheds light on the structure of various coordinatizing loops, particularly Bol and Moufang loops.

In this article we prove some relations between two-variable q-Bernoulli polynomials and two-variable q-Euler polynomials. By using the equality eq (z)Eq (−z) = 1, we give an identity for the two-variable qGenocchi polynomials. Also, we obtain an identity for the two-variable q-Bernoulli polynomials. Furthermore, we prove two theorems which are analogues of the q-extension Srivastava-Pinter add...
